ft. lauderdale/birthday

yesterday was a pretty great day considering it was a long work day...got to their house before 9 and i was immediately put to work once i got there. :p organized and cleaned the entire playroom which took a little more than an hour, then changed bed sheets and put some in the washer and dryer. went outside with the kids while they rode their bikes and scooters then took them to chic-fil-a for lunch. we got back and started playin around the house, went outside to jump on the trampoline and swing on the swingset, then came inside to cool down and they watched some cartoons. took them to subway for dinner and then this pretty neat place called 'penguins paradise' for italian ice. came back, played outside some more, gave them baths then watched the parent trap until their mom got back. this week was a pretty good week watching them but i'm definitely thankful for the weekend. :)

day before yesterday i went wakeboarding with uncle bobby and kaylie in the morning for a couple hours...finally was able to get in and out of the wake without faceplantin it. :p uncle bobby says i have it, it's just water time for the experience and to get the feel is whats gonna make me better. can't wait; aunt steph and i have the goal of being able to get air and land it before the summers over. & once we reach that, if summers not over, next goal is to jump the entire wake with landing; should be quite interesting. lol thanks to wakeboarding i've been incredibly sore all of yesterday and probably will still be sore today. oh well, it's worth it...hands down. :)

tomorrow i leave for ft. lauderdale and can't wait. [[oh yea, and tomorrow's my birthday]] dad told me he made reservations for the ruth chris steakhouse in boca raton for my birthday dinner which i'm psyched about cuz i've never been but my dad says it's amazing. :) i'll be in ft. lauderdale till monday sometime and before i head back i may stop by miami as requested by joel. :p that is if his lazy ass doesn't find a ride and come see me. :p can't wait to have a relaxing weekend without any little ones to watch on the beach and seeing my parents after almost a month. which i bought 2 new bathing suits and a new cute top for ft lauderdale and then the rest of the summer. :p

well gotta get to bed; get to sleep in tomorrow but the computer's about to die and i'm exhausted. :) until next time...

not much to say about today other than it was a VERYYYY long day of babysitting...9am-midnight; but on the plus side, i'm making that guap. :) & come to find out i'll be having another long night of babysitting on thursday. the kids are great, it's just that with any siblings when they're together for so long they start arguing, nit-pickin, and fighting. on the bright side though...after a long hard day at 'work' tomorrow is going to be a great day of wakeboarding at the lake. :)

3 days until ft. lauderdale; which i'm super duper pumped about!! & it came to my attention today that the whole time i've had this countdown...i've been counting down for ft. lauderdale and not my birthday which is the same day. lol guess it just hasn't come across as a big deal this year considering i'm not back home with all my friends and family. but i am pretty darn excited i get to see my parents this weekend...i guess you could call going to ft. lauderdale like a birthday weekend/vacation. :)

just as always music is my getaway but lately it has been more than usual. without having friends here is probably the hardest thing i've ever had to go through and if there were no music i honestly don't think i would be able to get through half of everything i go through.

well i better be getting to bed; i'm exhausted as it is and it's hard enough stayin awake to finish this post. goodnight and sweetdreams. :)

let's see...not much new going on around here; just been babysitting and hanging out with the family. second day of babysitting went pretty well; played around the house, outside, went out for dinner, got paid and came back to the house. i'm not gonna lie; it's great making money again and i can't wait to continue working for that very fact right there. lol

today i went into town and bought kylie, the older daughter of the kids i babysit, a birthday present at target. crazy thing is; while i was looking at father's day cards i hear my name which is completely unexpected considering i'm all the way in orlando, florida and don't know many people. & what do you know...kylie, hannah and their mom walk up and start talking. all the while, kylie's birthday present is sitting right inside my cart. perfect timing. :p she loves doing crafts and drawing so i bought her a bunch of arts & crafts stuff along with a box to keep everything in that i need to decorate before tuesday. while there i also bought 'he's just not that into you' which i saw in the theaters with laurie and absolutely love. also bought my dad a father's day card and a $50 gift card to his favorite restaurant...outback.

once i finished shopping i came back to the house and stopped by the lake to watch my little cousins do some fishing in the flooding lake in our neighborhood. we're getting pretty ticked off about all this rain because they have the boat ramp closed because they don't have floating docks and are afraid that people are going to run into them with their boats. also, it's near impossible to launch your boat from the ramp because of how high the water is. sad thing is...we're in hurricane season which just means bring on more and more rain. :/

tonight i've just been chillin around the house with the family...my aunts and i played rockband for an hour or two and since then i've been downloading music. [[one of my favorite things to do]] decided to watch 'titanic' towards the middle of it...and now 'enough' is on, almost over actually...so it's been quite a movie night. which was definitely needed to get my mind off of things. :)

i'm probably gonna head to bed pretty soon depending upon what movie comes on next on the wonderful TNT. lol the family is talking about going to seaworld when everyone gets up and then possibly the beach on monday so i might as well get some rest. until next time...

beginning

so i must say; this week has been the 'actual' beginning of my summer considering the fact that i have a job now. :) i hadn't heard from any of the places that i applied for but i did get a great babysitting job 2 days a week that pays great and has great hours...plus on weekends they will more than likely need me frequently. not to mention; the kids are amazing and the parents are wonderful people. today was my first day, which was kind of nerve-racking, because of the fact that i have always babysat for families that i had previously known and this family was completely new. but once i got there we introduced each other then immediately started playing games. :) so i definitely have tuesday, thursdays, and weekends to look forward to.

family came in this past weekend for a week which has kept us busy around the house...have 2 more cousins and my aunt here for their little summer vacation. around the house there are 4 kids around the age of 8 and 9 and considering they have been here for a few days already they have already started fighting, arguing, and picking on each other which is quite stressful considering this is a semi-vacation for myself. when they leave...we have my aunt and uncles family friends coming in that have 3 younger kids and then when they leave, a week later, another family comes. all this chaos will be done towards the end of june and that is when it will go back to normal and less stressful.

yesterday, went and got a new phone which was needed greatly because one of my little cousins decided to try and surf on the surfboard we had in the car and it fell on the cup which cracked in half causing all the drink to spill out until the other cupholder which was were my phone was. needless to say my old phone was submerged in the diet coke for a couple to a few minutes. but i love this phone and am so thankful to have it...was my birthday present from aunt steph, uncle bobby, kaylie and jett. then took my car to get an oil change which was definitely necessary cosidering the fact that i was around 500 miles over when i took it in. they also checked my battery because lately i haven't been able to start my car and it was apparently was in need of a new one and fast. most everyone was surprised i even made it all the way to orlando with that battery. lol

well, i'm off to bed and hope everyone has a great rest of the week. :) goodnight & sweetdreams.

So i'm finally in FLORIDA!!!!! Must say...16-17 hours in a car is not something that I would do more than possibly once or twice a year, i'd rather not have to do it but I am definitely glad that I will have my car here and i'll be able to go wherever without having to ask the aunt and uncle. Mom and I pulled up here around 2:30 yesterday afternoon and we took mom to the airport today around noon. It's crazy to think that she wasn't even here for a complete day after the long drive here. We went out on the boat this morning before she left so she could take plenty of pictures of the different scenery they have here...gotta love mom and her addiction to taking pictures. After we took her to the airport we came back to the house and played some pickle ball which was a new experience and i'm seriously thinking about buying it for when I go back to school...would give us something to do on those days and nights where we're just sitting there bored. Then after about 20 minutes we realized it was WAY too humid to not be in the water so we took the boat back out but we went to their neighborhood lake this time. Did quite a bunch of tubing and kneeboarding today. Planning on taking the wakeboard out tomorrow and going surfing. :)



I love florida but i'm not going to lie...i miss my friends back home like crazy. Especially the 2 best friends whom I see all the time and now the only way I have to keep up with them is through facebook, myspace, and texting. :/ I truly do not know what i'm going to do without beebo and beej this summer...not gonna be able to just chill outside at midnight, have a movie night, random drives, A.S., umpiring, camping out, etc. Summer just won't be the same without the best friends. I'm not just spending my summer without Aleasha, all the way in Canada, i'm having to spend it without Beej and Beebo all the way in Texas. Guess we'll just have to keep in touch and it'll make August so much better when I get back and when Aleasha gets her canadian ass back to Texas. :)



& I must add...I absolutely LOVE waking up to drunk voicemails. :) not only did I wake up to 1 this morning; but there were 2. [[definitely had me waking up with a smile]]

Just like I had said previously...I knew I would have a hard time keeping this thing updated; but i've been so busy lately it's been hectic around here. Let's see what's been going on with my life...

Only 2 more days until I leave for Florida; where i'll be for the remainder of summer and i can't wait. I had been planning this since last summer but honestly never thought it would actually happen because of having to get permission from the parents, find a job there, and get everything situated. It's just unbelievable that I will actually be there in a couple of days. :) I can't wait to see my family there...i miss them so much and my 2 little cousins have been sending me the cutest texts from my aunts phone. Kaylie is 9 and is thinking about playing softball and text me that she wants me to teach her some tricks lol, while Jett is 7, about to be 8, and he can't wait to play me in guitar hero. I love those 2 little kids more than life itself and can't wait to spend the entire summer with them. :)

This is my last week to umpire at the ballpark, where I have been umpiring for 5 years. It's unreal that I will not be umpiring anymore in Whitehouse...where i've seen certain kids grown up the past few years and as much as I say I hate umping out there; i truly will miss the kids. But I am so excited to take this new opportunity and move on with my life by getting out of the small town of Whitehouse.

Almost 3 months away from my childhood is going to be quite a bit different...friends from home, college, family, and everything I've grown up around is definitely going to be missed. My mom just realized today that she has never been apart from me this long before; considering the fact that Lon Morris is only about 25 minutes away she saw me every now and again but in Florida she won't see me for a full 3 months...I feel bad about leaving her because she always says that I keep her sane and laughing. Guess I just have to look at it as gradually getting her use to not seeing me everyday for when I go off after college or even after junior college to live my own life and have my own house. I guess that's the benefit of being the first child...seperation issues from her first born.

Now with life...i'm beginning to realize that I love competition more than most. I've always loved competition, I guess that's why I am so involved with sports, but it goes so much further than with sports. Daily I am faced with competition and I always try to be the best at what I do or better than others no matter what the situation. When looked at, that can be a strength and a weakness and the sad thing is I look at it as a strength but from others eyes who knows.

Twice in one day...wow.

So I am getting back into my music phase where all I want to do is listen to music, download music, and find new music 24/7. But then again it is a lot easier to do so when limewire actually works and you have nothing to do at the good ole house. This really makes me second think what I want to major in and the bad thing is that my major at the moment, criminal justice, is no where near having to deal with music producing. :/ I guess i will just have to see what goes down this summer and how serious I am about this music thing...but i'm not going to lie; I don't know where I would be without music. It truly helps me through any situation I am having to deal with and there honestly is at least one song out there to describe my feelings or thoughts at any point and time...the only thing: finding those songs and actually coming to the realization that it truly was intended for you to hear at that moment in time.
